SHORT TERM FORECAST ....REST OF WEDNESDAY NIGHT

A MORE POTENT UPPER SHORTWAVE TROUGH APPROACHES TONIGHT WITH ITS
ATTENDANT COLD FRONT. CURRENTLY, A BROKEN LINE OF SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS EXISTS ACROSS WESTERN PA AND WESTERN NY. THIS
BROKEN LINE IS PROGGED BY THE HIGH RES MODELS TO APPROACH WITH
THE COLD FRONT AND BE NEAR ORANGE COUNTY AROUND 02-03Z. HOWEVER,
LOSS OF DAYTIME HEATING AND LIMITED SURFACE BASED INSTABILITY AS
WELL AS THE BEST ENERGY PASSING TO THE NORTH SHOULD LIMIT
COVERAGE AND SEVERITY OF ANY CELLS IN THE BROKEN LINE. THE
OVERALL TREND OF THE LINE SHOULD BE DIMINISHING AS IT APPROACHES
THE NYC AREA DUE TO THE MARINE INVERSION. A FEW LINGERING
SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED AS THE FRONT MOVES ACROSS LONG ISLAND AND
SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT.

THE FRONT MOVES THROUGH AFTER MIDNIGHT WITH DRIER AIR ADVECTING
INTO THE AREA.
